Madison Firearm Injury Prevention and Care Curriculum Workshop
March 14-15, 2025 - University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
SAFE was happy to host 17 individuals from seven different medical schools/institutions at this spring workshop. Workshop attendees were primarily from the Midwest, and heard from various stakeholders such as community violence interruption workers, suicide prevention researchers and individuals impacted by firearm violence. We actively engaged with medical students and firearm violence survivors to understand perspectives and perceived educational needs in firearm injury prevention and care (FIPC) education.
